Our expertly trained providers will use a cooling device if necessary to help minimize any discomfort. This is a quick treatment that does not require any pretreatment. The skin does not usually begin peeling until day 2 post treatment and once it begins peeling, it will continue for about 3 days. We can schedule you accordingly so that your three day recovery period falls over the weekend or whenever is best for your schedule. You may experience a slight tingling or stinging sensation when the solution is first placed on your skin that lasts several minutes and quickly resolves.
Most patients will not experience significant redness, swelling or peeling for the first couple of days. On day 3, you can expect the skin to begin peeling and sloughing and this process lasts for up to 3 days.
After the peeling process, the skin will begin to appear brighter with decreased hyperpigmentation, pore size and improved texture. It may take up to 4 weeks to see full results.
