At Aesthetic Alchemy we use platelet rich plasma (PRP) injections and/ or placental growth factors to enhance hair restoration and other cosmetic procedures. PRP is derived from 2 elements found in blood. Plasma is the liquid portion of the blood and the platelets which are a type of blood cell that promotes healing throughout the body. Platelets contain growth factors that can trigger cell reproduction and tissue regeneration in the treated area. After creating platelet-rich plasma from a patient’s own blood sample, that solution is injected into the scalp to stimulate hair growth.

Will PRP injections work for any type of hair loss?
PRP injections are effective at treating male pattern baldness and most other types of hair loss. However, as part of your treatment plan, your practitioner may recommend lab work to rule out underlying conditions or deficiencies that could be contributing to the hair loss.
Does PRP work?
PRP not only decreases hair shedding and stimulates new hair growth, but it also increases the thickness of the hair follicle itself.
How many PRP treatments will I need?
The number of treatments depends on each individual’s goals along with the severity of the hair loss. Typically 4-6 treatments is recommended, each spaced about 4 weeks apart. After that a touch up treatment once a year is needed to maintain results.
How painful is PRP for hair loss?
You may experience some mild soreness and a feeling of fullness and pressure where the injections took place but you should be able to bounce back post appointment without any problem.
